my oldest coin to date

I found this coin last week, but was having trouble ID'ing it. I put it on the whatzit board and Musketeer hooked me up. at first i thought it was a King George II 1/2 farthing. (1750's) I was off by 100 years. It is a Louis XIV child bust coin. which makes it late 1640's -1650's this is my oldest coin to date. thanks for looking, Dan

Man that's old and looks to be in very good condition. Is it a gold coin? My oldest is a spanish real 1799 If I remember right.

No Paul, it is not gold it is copper and it is pretty beat up. there is just enough detail on it to know what it is.

You beat my oldest coin by 180 years! That is pretty cool.

Dan great find and ID! I have the super camera with the great Macro... We'll see if we can get a good picture tomorrow.... Bring it along...

Paul
