The E-Trac does it again! I found this first year mintage (1819) Matron Head about 8 inches deep in a hole with 3 square nails!

You don't know how long I've waited to start finding stuff like this! I also found a part of a Silver Spoon with a hammered square shaped handle. I only hunted for 1 1/2 hours and hardly touched the site! I'll be going back as soon as I can. This place has never been hunted. I know the property owner.

Yesterday, I found 2 Indian Head pennies at a "hunted out" ball field.

Too bad work gets in the way LOL! Someday I'll be financially independent and can go detecting any time!!!!

I was using the MineLab coin setting with the 01 / 38 - 01 / 50 line open. Conductive Sounds, Fast On Deep Off. This rang in like a wheat penny at 12 / 46 but was scratchy because of the 3 square nails in the hole with it. It read good in both directions.

Man I would love to find one of them buggers..................WTG!!! Hawkeye Jim.

LOL! Banged up wheats and Roosies are my usual finds!

The 1816 Matron and Indians aren't generally my kind of finds.

I went back there after work. I had 2 hours to hunt. Nothing as great as the last find. I recovered a 1905 Indian Head, 1930 Wheat, 1934 Wheat, a 1904 St. Louis World's Fair tag and a nice intact bell. I'm going to hunt it again tomorrow.
