Monte said:I got away for about 5 hours this morning and used the 11" DD exclusively at a site I "test/compare" every make and model and every accessory coil I get my hands on. Yes, the 11" DD did separate some targets reasonably well, depending upon the direction of sweep. I' still like the stock 10" concentric, but will head back there next Saturday for a day of hunting and have the 5" DD mounted. The trash level is extreme! Pull tabs and beer caps and screw caps and old glue tubes from the era of sniffing, and .... just a LOT! Anyway, when I want the best separation, I also want the smallest 'footprint.' The 5" coil's the ticket for me in junk-filled locations.
It's produced Merc.s and Barber's for me in the past with smaller-than-stock coils. Neither of us got silver today. It was chilly, foggy, drizzly and somewhat unpleasant, too.
