My oldest Find to Date

I just found out today this button is 110 years old and I donated to a museum. The curator I spoke with told me it was in excellent shape and she said it would not be hard for her to clean.
The button was only a couple of inches deep. I actually thought it was going to be a Silver Quarter, but to my surprise, it was not another Silver Quarter, but my oldest find to date.

Nice find, and donating it to a museum is a good thing, congrats.

I see a star. Is it a Texas button of some type? What did the curator identify it being? Just curious. Great find and fantastic gesture on your part to share it with others for years to come. Jody...

It is a Texas button. I am not positive, but I think the curator said it was a button that came off of a Texas Republic Shirt? She mentioned the button had also been used at least once as a stamp when placed in ink.
