is that the plug from the coil into the control box socket is very tight ,there must be little tolerance of this assembly .i have to take it down to get it into the bag for shipping around ,and it entails wriggling the plug out of the socket with too much force than i would like .
and not much grip available on the screw part .

I've encountered that too with one of my Omega coils and one of my F 75 LTD coils. When ever I use those coils, I hold the screen with one hand so as not to put to much pressure on it when I pull and wiggle the coil connection loose. HH jim tn

I have read of some using a small nail to open the holes in the control head.
A little risky for me so i just left it alone on my F75.

I have to agree that the coil plug is too tight. Really tight. To the point that it would be easy to snap the control head off if your not perfectly bracing it with the other hand. I think this will be a contested warranty issue in the future for First Texas. I have had 2 T2's. Both units had this ultra tight coil socket issue.
Also, some of the screw on collars go on smoothly, and others do not. On both machines I've had. The one's that don't thread properly will eventually lead to stripping of the threads on the control head. Again, a future contested warranty issue.
If my memory serves me correctly its the 11" stock coil that has the above issues. Not the 5" DD.

The coil wings on the 11" while too thin, fit the rod perfectly. The 5" coil has much thicker wings, but the gap between the wings is too wide, and I can see the wings getting snapped off by the bolting assembly in order to secure the 5" snugly. Maybe FTP should hire me for quality contol:)

Mines really tight on my g2 aswell, but i prefer it tight rather than loose, just need to take care.

Gaz :)

i have another criticism too.
the bottom stem wont go up to the last hole allowing the spring loaded catch to engage .it needs cutting back
