Went out for a short 3 hour hunt this morning with my buddy MikeWaz in a new section of the forest preserve. Well like 10 min into the hunt I got my 1st decent signal (it bounced a little bit but I dug down and was supprised to see a merc in the hole. My month and a half silver drought is finally over!!! A bit later I scored my 2nd merc, then my 1st SLQ for the year and my 2nd one ever, needless to say I was freakin out here!!! Then lastly I found my War Nickel. 4 silver in about 3 hours!!! The site was fairly trash/iron plates in parts and my 8x6 snuck through and found me the goods!!!

The mosquito's were unbearable as soon as you stepped into the shade there were thousands all over you biting and it was hot as heck too!!! We are gonna go back in the fall or after we get a good frost that's for sure!!!

The SLQ is a 1920, I couldn't get a decent shot of it but when its in your hand its unmistakable. Hope everybody had a chance to get out and hunt this weekend!!!

If your thinking about adding a small coil to your arsenal I would highly recommend the 8x6 S.E.F!!!

Glad your silver drought is over......you quenched it in style with all those silvers.
Congrats on the SLQ, Mercs and the war nickle.
Hope the mosquitos left you enough blood to stay healthy.
Gold Nuggets :wiggle:

I told you that little coil would be worth the wait Fiend:clapping:

Your SLQ is a BLAZER with some sweet detail. The detail on yours is twice as nice as mine is.

a fully readable date of 1920:clapping: Congrats

That '23 Merc is a Sweet High Grade Coin!!! The Standing Liberty Quarter is in nice shape also. Congrats on a successful hunt and hope your next outing is just as rewarding as this one was for you. Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

Way to go Fiend!! the the SLQ. great video too, I appreciate you sharing those. I have always had great luck hunting the short grass areas of the forest preserve areas in Chicago and that was before the explorers. Would love to try it again with my SE:super:

Nice Mercs & really like the early date SLQ. It's great when you can get one with a date, especially when it is one before 1925 when the date was recessed.

enjoyed the video and nice find treasurefiend.

Sweet looking quarter man
