My strangest find so far.

I could not quite understand why this rotten old birch log was giving such a sweet signal. I was afraid to open it at first but I did and was baffled until I read the note.
The first entry in the log book was 05 the last was 09. The signal came from a copper bullet inside the container. I thought before I opened it that it was a drug cache.
I took the copper bullet and put in a plastic play coin.
I'm putting it back today.

Strange indeed....but a cool find nonetheless G.R.
I'm glad you are getting some hunt time in my friend. I'll be mowing all day...but also getting to spend timewith my dad.

First one I ever heard found with a detector! Nice find and nice to hear you participated in the event! Thanks for sharing, man....

I rolled that log around a bit looking for the signal and thought it strange that it had a plastic lid on one end. I thought that someone was watching me. DEE DEE DEE! Twilight Zone Theme.

Thanks Bryce,
Thats what I love about this hobby. Always something different. Glad you could spend the day with your dad. A day well spent I say.

yep, what you found was a geocache container. i my self am guilty of hiding a few of these myself. with the help of a GPS and coordinances off the Geocache website folks find these and log the find.
on behalf of all fellow Geocachers, thank you for replacing that container back where you found it. by the way......you should have made a log entry on it......proof that you dont need a GPS to find one of these containers.

That would be pretty neat to find. Thanks for sharing. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

That is interesting, keeps you guessing what you might find. I was wondering if anyone ever dug up a time capsule. Thank for sharing. HH

Interesting find Greatrepublic. Maybe next time it will be full of cash instead of a cache. A thrill for you either way.

Cool find man!! Funny but i found one out detecting today... It was a pill bottle wrapped up in electrical tape... Inside was a piece of paper and a Mexican 5 cent coin,,, I just put it back where i discovered it lol Look forward to more finds from you!!
