The family is heading up to the Myrtle Beach, SC area soon on a vacation. I usually try to take my detector with me, but I have never been to a South Carolina beach. So I have a question or two.
Most importantly, are there any laws or local regulations I might need to be aware of for the Myrtle Beach areas?
I know SC laws prohibit detecting in state parks, but are the public beaches & area "tot lots" fair game?
Any tips you old salts care to give an inland hunter who will once again be out of his normal element? I'll be hunting mainly in the "beach blanket" zone and th edge of the wet as I'm using a XL Pro, but I do have a wide selection of coils. This will be the first time I have had a chance to try a bigfoot on a beach. I have some expierence the effects of "black sand" at other beaches before, but I'm not a beach hunter by any means.
Thanks in advance...
