I have been working forever to find any info on this button. I found it at a old home site time period 1820-1860. It has this on the back....... T. W. & W H M PARIS... On back any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

I found one just like it by Googling it's details
http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/bb-mastiff-dog-antique-picture-button-173707538

The companies full name
TRELON WELDON & WEILL http://www.buttoncrs.com/patentsfr.html

Looks like it could have been made between 1814 to 1865

Sorry best I could do from my phone during morning coffee
okay second cup of coffee gave me a bit more energy..
apparently the back mark HM stand for Hartog Marchand who were with that company from 1865 to 1884.
what someone else was saying (regarding the same exact button) on another detecting forum was that animals were popular to be depicted on buttons during the Victorian era, and dogs were high on that list.they felt this was probably a mans cuff button
