I have been running various F-75 Proto's for several months now.... and I must say there is legitimate justification as to why I DID NOT report any initial findings with early generation Proto's.... as the final product differs dramatically from the original Proto, in respect to operating characteristics.

In a nut-shell:
* F-75 most closely resembles T-Square (T-2), but with much more power/Sens.
* F-75 is approx. 1.5" deeper on a U.S. dime vs. T-2.
* T-2 is High Resolution Iron Discrimination (Disc of: 00 - 40).
* F-75 is High Resolution Aluminum Discrimination (Iron Disc is 00 - 15).
* F-75 has up to 300% greater sensitivity to small gold (vs. T-2).
* F-75 has tremendous gain on small gold when Disc is reduced to '0'.
* F-75 incorporates CZ-3D "old coins" Specs, 4-Tone, VCO pinpoint, nickel hi-tone. ---Nickel window is slightly widened.... and 'old generation' coins audibly report as 3rd-highest tone in the 4-tone mode. (( Sounds similar to the "relic" tone on CZ-70 )). All 4 tones similar to CZ-70. (Comfort zone not infringed).
* F-75 & T-2 has microprocessor (identical - audible) extremely enhanced adjacent target separation characteristics..... as fast as...and possibly faster then human brain comprehension.
* F-75 & T-2 coil electromagnetic footprint is identical. ( Tightest DD footprint in the industry ).
* F-75 vs. T-2 (in 2, 3 & 4 tone modes) Identical target separation (in iron or alum trash).... except F-75 has more sensitivity,,,,giving better audible resolution on non-Fe targets (especially deeper targets).
* F-75 VDI on Cu dime = '72' and on Ag dime = '74'. (High Resolution Aluminum Discrimination can also be viewed upon as: High Resolution Coins Discrimination).
* F-75 is a noisy machine due to extreme levels of Sensitivity capabilities ....and,,,, to a beginner/newbie, it may be quite difficult to understand its language. T-2 users will have zero problems - seemless transition. Remember; In most cases the 'chatter' you hear with the T-2/F-75 (in actuality) is not 'chatter'.... rather, it is tiny (or deep) pieces of metal. And also remember (especially w/F-75) it allows the operator to "overdrive" the Sensitivity because there are some physical areas where this is do'able (and prefered).
* F-75 has slightly less electrical/electrostatic interference problems vs. T-2 & Coin$trike.
* T-2 turned out to be a very serious 'relic' hunter (not intensionally). F-75 was intended/targeted to be more of a 'coins' hunter; however, in reality, I have verified it is a 'coins' hunter (more so then T-2) and a premium 'relic' hunter.
* Be careful; 'masked and/or deep coins' will give low 'Confidence' LCD readings.
* Moderately Fe-masked targets are mostly undetectable to other detectors, whereas F-75 will report the non-ferrous target in co-locate with iron. In these cases, do not rely on VDI numbers.... as the F-75 will homogenate/mix...and usually "up-average" the VDI numeric reading. Most places hunted, masking is severe.
* F-75 has identical depth (with proper ID) capabilities to CZ (w/8" coil) in Florida inert soil.
* F-75 has nearly identical depth (with proper ID) capabilities to CZ in Georgia red laterite. (Some areas the Fe3O4 (magnetite) LCD bar-graph easily pegged w/T-2 & F-75).
* Of noteworthy interest; T-2 & F-75 are single Freq units.... and parallel the multi-freq CZ in the department of depth.
* F-75 not indended as a wet-salt beach unit; however, performance is okay.
* Dry sand performance is tremendous if config'd properly.
* CZ & F-75 on coin-sized targets (in most cases) have nearly identical depth capabilities and overall performance (in most parts of the country); HOWEVER, in medium-light, medium, medium-heavy & heavy trash areas the F-75 is far superior in adjacent target separation capabilities. Once again; "depth" vs. "EFFECTIVE depth" (See Fisher Intelligence - 6th edition for expanded explanation).
* In clear/trash-free fields in Georgia severe red lateritic dirt, Minelab Explorer is superior to F-75/CZ/T-2. In same dirt, ...in medium-low, medium, medium-high & high trash areas the F-75 (& T-2) are far superior to all others (including Minelab & CZ). Microprocessor of Minelab is unacceptably slow. Keep in mind; approx 80% of the areas we hunt are medium-low (and higher) trash areas. Where people cohabit the most..... is where most finds will be located.
* In a Fe trashy area, hunting behind a CZ/Explorer..... the F-75 will give appearance the area may have never been hunted.

On a personal note: Hunted an old home-site in Georgia. Heavily nail infested. Explorer was quiet. Excessively quiet. Audio threshold was constantly nulled (due to Fe nail infestation dirt). CZ was 'chattery'. Any/All CZ & Explorer performance were 'shut-down' due to severe handicap in nails. F-75 was 'noisy' but found MANY non-ferrous targets that CZ & Exp could not see (head-to-head verified/validated). F-75 could see non-Fe targets to depths of approx 3"...where as CZ & Exp could only see surface targets semi-reliably. ---- Hunted several other areas with similar performance. ...Explorer is too slow to 'reset' between adjacent targets.
* Deliberately run the F-75 a bit noisy.
* Optional coils to follow. Be patient.

Nothing is written stone yet about the F75 I will wait till I see what the relic hunters do with the new machine and the guys in the UK. We have nothing but time.

I'm not buying into it. If the build quality is no better than the t2 they'll be gettin a lot of them back in a hurry. also, the same coil freq. but the coils won't interchange,,,,,hmmmm. double whammy. Nope, i'll just stick with my t2, keep addin electrical tape to the handle, lower rod, and locking collars till she pukes and i'll send her in to get fixed. till then this little fishy ain't bitin......hh

I read Tom Nasa's report and he said the F-75 has up to 300% greater sensitivity to small gold (vs. T-2). That's great for gold nugget detecting or searching for fine gold chains, The extra sensitivity on the F-75 may launch the T-2 ahead of the F-75 as the better detector when searching older areas laced with iron.

The only problem with too much sensitivity on a fast recovery detector, It creates the detector to be more acceptable to iron, Be digging allot more false targets.

I use allot of detectors, So I know what detectors are best suited for searching older areas with allot of old iron and old rusty cans. The detectors I use that do have more sensitivity over the T-2 don't fare as well as the T-2 on both audio and visual ID when in areas full of iron, The detectors with higher gain or higher kHz get fooled more by iron.

The T-2 is in a league by itself, It has just enough sensitivity for smaller signals and gets enough separation to capture good signals masked by iron yet not too much sensitivity to get fooled by iron as the higher kHz or detectors with an increased gain do.

I feel once the dusk settles, T-2 users who really know the T-2 will see the advantage it has over the F-75 at the older sites laced with old iron.

My two cents worth,
Paul (Ca)

Andy ol' friend... relax... Keep in mind that "In a nut-shell:" to quote

"*F-75 most closely resembles T-Square (T-2), but with much more power/Sen."

and "*F-75 has up to 300% greater sensitivity to small gold (vs. T-2)."

This is just an opinion... (Reference: The "In a nut-shell" post)...

The testing was done over a short period. It may not be valid in the longer time frame. There are parameters that may have not been
considered... such as dry and wet desert soils, heterogeneous gravels... coil control... such as sweep speed... and that it takes operator time to fully understand a particular detector and be able to use it effectively...

I bought my T-2, and paid for the modification... and I'm waiting for the smaller coil... which I understood was to become available by February ???

300% more sens might make the F75 a bit too sensitive for my hunting. I mean you will be picking up micro size bits of trash in the gold range. If you hunt for nuggets than that is a good thing for you. And deeper to boot, I really do think it depends on where you live and hunt.

But I think it is great that fisher has a new detector and it is a refined T2. I think sometimes too much of a good thing changes what worked all by itself.

If we have one thing to be upset at with the T2 is why and when are they going to give us our small coil.

I will use the T2 as my main relic machine and wait for a new coin machine to come out that has a lower freq or a few different freq.

But for now I am still learning my T2 and it talks a lot and I have to do a lot of listening to find the good stuff and so far I have been doing really great.

It will be nice to see how the F75 does and I am hoping that it is all that it should be and more.

Over many years I have seen this sort of oneupmanship tripe.

Tomorrow another Gods gift to detectorists will appear and so it goes on and on.

The T2 has proven to be a very effective detector at a affordable price.

They are selling like hot cakes in the UK and some folks are still waiting for them.

Ok we have had some trouble with the plastic locking rings which was a manufacturing problem and which has now been corrected.

Remember that the T2 price is right and for those who do not need a back light, notching and last programme memory its fine.

It is the fastest detector that I have owned for changing the Sensitivity, drimination and choice of sounds what more do I need.

Oh yes most important of all its a magnet for silver and gold apart from the many ancient artefact's being unearthed.Jerry.

Be careful not to mistake that for 300% depth over the T2 or something.....you know how rumors start around here ;)

Paul, (with respect to the many others opinions on the matter being discussed),
your post encapsulates the most important factors.

I agree totally with your very astute and concise analysis of the main attributes of the Teknetics T2.

To me, it is and always will be an icon of what a detector is all about.

Efficient, informative, and effortless to use.

It should demonstrate to other designers and manufacturers just what performance benchmark their product must minimally aspire to.

Just one polite reminder to any manufacturer.
Don't let the technical excellence of a machine be marred by indifferent attention to the material construction, and weather resistance of your product.

I would wait and see what others have to say about the F75 (testing it) before I jump in and buy one .Let the regular guy have it for a few month and really see how it does . Hell the ground is still frozen .

Hi Matt,

I hoping the extra sensitivity for smaller size targets will not effect the F-75 at the sites we detect, Older settlements will allot of old iron and bits & pieces of rusted metals. That is what I have experienced with detectors having more sensitivity for smaller targets, These other detectors get excellent separation but get fooled allot more on these pieces of rusted metal and square nails. That's the reason why the T-2 is more successful over these other detectors having more sensitivity to smaller targets, The T-2 is about the most perfect machine one can have for these type of sites.

However, The extra sensitivity with the F-75 for smaller targets is a benefit in other areas many users will enjoy. Plus, I look forward to reading your assessment, You have the experience and I know your opinion will be fair.

Hopefully the extra sensitivity is not an issue and launches the F-75 way ahead of the pack, The T-2 just needs a smaller coil to help it respond stronger on smaller targets which would make it a better nugget detector.

I think you are absolutely right and sounds like Tom just gave a good ol sales pitch for Fisher. I'll stick with my T2 and see what happens with all the first ones that go out and the "real" tests come back.

This is the T2 forum... It has beem posted earlier in this thread which I repeat as said:

"*F-75 has up to 300% greater sensitivity to small gold (vs. T-2)"

For those who are looking for a "Do All" with the thought to use the T-2 as a prospecting machine... ??? What is 300%? And what form was the gold... and was it in an air test or within a particular soil matrix. I'm not trying to raise issues... I have used the T2 over
year 2006 out prospecting for eluvial gold... I could not honestly
compare it with another "Do All."

The "edge" is accessory coils... I feel(?) the T2 as it has been designed by Mr. Johnson and Mr. Gardiner has great potential as a
"Do All" gold machine. And I'm not comparing with any other make or model of detector whatever they may be...

This is certainly a good reason to make the smaller coil available for those who do occasional nugget hunting for eluvial gold in the desert areas of the south western cordillera.

Also... whatever the "smaller" coil is to be: ... circular or eliptical... concentric or double-d...

As long as it is of quality and carefully designed and can be used
"aggressively" around the brush w/o "barking" back.

And as a word of encouragement... for all of you (as I have) bought your T-2... it is a great machine... As you use it and learn its "secrets," which will come as you use it... you will find good stuff.

If it "breaks" send it in and have it fixed as soon as possible. The
Teknetic line as originally designed back years ago was known for Quality...

I know Tom wouldn't want to tarnish his fine reputation just for a few bucks to "hype" a machine...I would think it is best to wait to make any opinions until the machine has been used by the general public out in the field...JMHO...HH

P.S. Tom's post was very concise as always and I'm sure could be checked point for point to "confirm" his findings :)

What exactly does this statement mean in the field?

F-75 is High Resolution Aluminum Discrimination (Iron Disc is 00 - 15).

Does that mean that the F-75 will help me in "can slaw" and pulltabs?

just that theres much more resolution or numbers span above iron so you can in essence notch things like that easier. A nice spread especially for picking out certain coins I take it. My t-2 the iron levels goes up to 40 so its disc is much more compacted.
Cheers
Liam
