Neat Find at the 1820's Acadian

Louisiana Ken

New member
Found this neat little silver "whatz it" and a silver cross yesterday. The "whatz it" looks like a book (bible?) and appears to be made out of maybe coin silver (no makers mark). My thought is that it slips over a flat button but I'm probably wrong. Also found the silver cross under an old Magnolia tree root and says sterling. Other finds not pictured are a 1911 "V" nick, a couple of buffalo nicks, some Jefferson nicks, 1912/18D/few other wheat's, couple of buckles, bullets, clad, trash, etc. All in all it was a fun day.

Good Luck at Your Sites,

Kenny

What a great day you had. The coins alone would have made my day, but throw in the silver and you have a truly memorable hunt.
The book does look like it could have been a button cover.
Well done,
Bunker

That's different. Nice finds

Though I am anything but a expert on your Silver Religious Book. It does appear to be something like a Cuff Link or Tie Tack. Is hand made and does appear to be Coin Silver. It is a wonderful find, one I would never part with. Cherish it, those kind of finds just don't come along very often. Rick IL
