I read this on another forum and believe it or not it works! I placed an ad on craigs list saying I was looking for old properties to metal detect and I got a reply already, lady contacted me and they have a 1910 farm house 30 minutes from me, they said come dig and have fun!!!! if anyone wants to see my ad I would be happy to post it here. Give it a try many are doing it on the other forum and having great luck!

I am going to have to think that one over!

here is the ad I use........give it a try! you just never know what kind of responses you may get, I also posted an ad under lost and found for anyone who might have lost a ring or other jewelry, I stated I will help assist in finding the lost item if allowed to search the rest of the yard, I had one lady contact me about her lost wedding ring. It was too far away for me, so I contacted a guy closer to her and he went and helped her.I post this under "items wanted"

My friend and I both live in (your town) , and love to hunt for old relics, coins, etc. Not for profit, just for the excitement of digging up pieces of history.
We are currently looking for a few more places in the area to detect. Mainly older homes and properties built before the 1940

I think I'm going to give that a shot with a little twist. I use the ExpII exclusively but I also have a CZ20. I'll use an ad like yours but also put in that they'll get FREE lessons and hands on experience on how to use a metal detector and get to use a $1,000 "professional" metal detector. "We're not talkin' Radio Shack here"

Thanks!

Way to Go, goes4ever, but make sure you live up to your ad and leave any well-groomed lawns as they were! Dry weather plays a part in how the dug holes look after retrieving! Most water their lawns though, so it might not be a big problem there! Good ad and hope you, your friend and others get many old places to go :twodetecting: :)

And make sure there is equal division of the find, if they want some, as one of the ladies from the club offered the owners of the yard she detected first choice and they took a beautiful ring and the silver! Fair is fair, so make it clear up front, what is what in division! God Bless! Betty
