Need some help with a coil choice here....

I was an original explorer owners when the machine first was released. Sold it off as I couldn't ever get it to to run consistantly at the beach. Heard that the original hollow coil was to blame so I thought I would come back for a second go at it. Just picked up one used minus a coil. I'm a beach hunter exclusively. With some many different coils available I wanted to narrow down my search. I spotted a 14 x 10 detect coil, figuring it would be great for coverage and depth. I'm open to any suggestion from you all. Would like the pros and cons of your favorite choice.

Thanks,

Bob

I bought accelerator 10x14- what you thinking about and after one hour decided to put under bad, where its still lives there. compared with stock 1050 coil is falsing on every second hot rock! in my opinion if compare with stock coil its theoretical more ground covering, but practically its not working like original coil. plus connection coil is not in center witch is not very good. i think forget about this coil and try bigger sef coil , i cant say about much but at least it has shaft connection in center which makes better balance. good luck Stasys

WOT 15" is a great coil too. The only problem with the bigger coils is the scream off on beer cans torward the outer edge of the coil. Just keep having to lift it over beer cans to check them out.

Bayrat has the answer you want to the coil. I have to agree with him. I like my SEF but the WOT covers a LOT of ground, has good TID, and is light enough to swing for some time out there. Its often a trade off .... too much coil can loose you a target or two at depth, but on the beach it will find small targets deep and still cover a lot more beach. I think its a win win with the WOT.
