Hi All
went out hunting for a few hours today wasn't finding much clad half couple wheat's .Was getting dark hit one more place and bang 3 silvers 1942 WLH 35 Washington &58d Rosie 7 wheat's the oldest a 1920.has any other ET notice that half dollars really sound all that good seems like Rosie dimes and quarters hit harder I am surprised any time I find one
thx for looking HH RonC

Very nice finds Ron !

The etrac's don't like halves. I have dug 3 and with the numbers I was getting I was expecting another penny. The best way to find good finds is dig every consistent (sound) target because the machine numbers will lie to you. Found a aluminum token the other day, A consistent 1-40 8-9 swings in one direction. About to walk off but decided to hit it from a 90 degrees different angle. It then switched to a 11-40.

Well I hardly ever look at numbers both half's sounded good enough to dig but real soft a little better than a wheat sound. But the quarter and dime I knew were silver and all about the same depth. I can never say that's a half with the ET HH RonC

every half I have dug was a signal that screamed silver, there was no way I was passing it up....I dug 6 last year
great finds, congrats

I have only dug two silver halfs (both Walker's) and they come in loud and clear at 08,09/47. Big silver rings hit the same for me. I have noticed from reading all the postings for the past year or two that not every ET reads like the same, and that different ground gives varied results. I have a desert spot where a Wheat hits 12/41 and a merc 12/43. here in town I get different #'s, 12/43,44 and 13/44 are more usual. Nothing is 100% CONSISTANT THOUGH! I dug a wheat on Sat that was a clear and repeatable 12/47, and a silver dime that was 12/43. They were a foot apart.

The two halves that I found in the past few weeks (40 WLH, 53D Franklin) both had me thinking they were a dime or possibly a quarter. It could have been the trash around them since where they were found has been hunted pretty hard for the last coule of years. I just know they were a good enough signal to dig and I did.

Ron, that is a nice day of detecting. Congrats on the silver. -- Randy
