New 12.5 volt Lithium-Ion battery for E-Trac

Could more power to the machine result in greater depth from this new higher voltage battery?
Some Nautilus users believe the depth they get out of their machines is the result of running 4, 9 volt batteries.
Just a thought.

I was thinking about getting one of those and most likely will this spring. I am fairly sure that it will not increase the depth just like lower battery power doesn't effect depth. The machine regulates and runs at a certain power. The advantage with these batteries are longer life.

I use the HP-2900 and iI love it:detecting:

There is an over voltage regulator in the E-Trac, and according to the manual, LiPo batteries were not recommended because off the higher Voltage...The machine is supposed to shut itself down if over volted...

HH,

Hello DiggerODirt,

Our ML-2900 Minelab Batt Pack is not a LiPo Battery, We use Lithium-ion they auto charge to 12.5 volts and the smart charger shuts off.
We have used our Lithium-ion Batt Packs in the FBS Machines for almost 2 years with absolutely no problems of over-voltage.
I have to say we've recieved reports from people saying they've got more depth with our Batt Packs!
I'm not gonna argue with them.........lol

Try it out, stick a dime in the ground a inch past where the regular battery picks it up and see if the new 12.5 volt battery can pick it up, might take you all of 5 minutes to complete this complex experiment, but I'm sure it will answer your question:rofl:

Lets make this fair.......

Run the ML-2900 for 25 hours, Put it aside..

Then run the Minelab rechargeable for to 2 or 3 hours.

After you have done all that, Compare the 2

Then see which one will go deeper!

Im Kidding!

I am working on getting one of these for Christmas... my original battery isn't holding a charge for very long anymore and I've started using the AA pack more and more. I've done what research there is and if I don't get anything else, I want one of these batteries!!

The ML-2900 will charge from dead to Full 12.5 volts in less than 2 hours!

Also has a 12v Car Charger that will do the same....

I have one and love it. I can hunt for many many days without charging. Have had it for almost two months and am charging it the second time tonight.

I was shocked on how quickly they charge. I have detected 3 separate days with my E-Trac and it still shows full charge. Amazing!

I think it would be easy to say the ML-2900 would be the Longest Lasting Christmas Present you ever gave or received ! :detecting:

I know a quarter pound doesn't sound like much.... but I am thinking that it will make a difference,

Does it make the Etrac a little easier on the long hunts... or is it unnoticeable?

I can't wait to get one of these. I am not going to torture myself and order one now, seeing as winter is here en force. I'll wait until closer to spring.:detecting:

Just ordered one, be nice to interchange between the SE and the E Trac and have no worries of charge, if need be.

Ordered one today. I will let you guys know how it holds up to hours and hours of use.

Eventually you will just shake you head and say WoW!

Seems like the thing just never dies, better than the Energizer Bunny!!:surprised:

Having a battery that will charge with a car charger in less than 2 hrs is certainly a plus. I have worried that my Minelab AA battery pack would be dead when i needed them.
