Yes Ken you said i would find gold and you were right! Thanks for the encouragement .

I have only had the compadre less than 2 weeks ! Markings are italy 585 (14k), found in tot lot in wood chips at about 3 inches (26 grams)

love this compadre!

I have never swung anything that can find chains of any size, shape or metal as easily as this thing can, or have seen any video or read any post about anything that can do it so effortlessly, either.
More to come!

CladCanada,, We all told you that the COMPADRE is a GIANT detector. Now you are a member of the CHURCH OF THE COMPADRE. Have you read that thread yet? It is a lot of fun and very long.
You will have a very hard time putting it down. It is so easy to use. I been using compadres for a long time now. You did darn good at finding that chain. Did it blow your ears off? Now you want to hit every tot lot in the country. Have fun... KEN

I have read most of that thread ,its great. Also its what made me go with a compadre, that and posts from yourself (Ken Ward) Reveir, Dan b ,sven . Thank you all for taking the time to post such excellent info . No other detector has such a vast following,i am a true believer and member of the church of the compadre.

It did ring in very loud at first i thought it was a $2 coin but when i seen a glint of gold i said earing........except that it didn't come out of the chips easy i had to pull it free . What a great feeling

yep , tot lots till the snow flies!!!!!!!!

I started that thread under a different name as a joke but I think I screwed up.
After that silly thing took hold many read it, many more bought them and many who had them but didn't use them much started to look at this amazing little thing with a new attitude...and a ton more great finds have come out of the ground as a result.
There is just so much gold and a finite amount of chains out there for us to find...I wonder how long we can keep finding these rare and great targets with so many now having first hand knowledge about how easy the Compadre can do these things and with such regularity.

Well now,, I think it is about time we all stop talking about how good the COMPADRE is and how it WILL find that small gold and silver. We don't want too many people knowing how good it is. I want some more of that GOLD. We got to keep this quiet... KEN

Sorry, I got a real big mouth and now the cat is out of the bag, the genie has escaped the bottle and all that.
I am sure it will take a few years but given enough time with all these Compadre owners we jewelry hunters are eventually going to be doomed.

Again, so sorry....:surrender:

SWEET! Thats a nice chunk! Congrats!

VERY NICE FIND

I am hoping that the ratio of people with bad fitting jewelry increases in our favour

on the scale of things lost, I think chains would be few...rings plenty...if a person watches people, quite a few are wearing rings, but not many wear chains. Especially big gold ones like that!
Add to this the fact that rings are relatively easy to detect, whereas chains are not, even silver ones...whooo, gives me a headache...:stretcher: This could be the only gold chain you ever find in your life! Dont let that stop you though...chains are a helluva trophy! :buds:

And I hope it is high dollar jewelry... KEN

Keep working them tot lots. You will find more goodies. Another trick in them tot lots is when you get close to the steel post, go slow . Listen for a double beep . Check it out. Might be something good.
Another thing to do when you get close the steel post is move your coil slowly toward the post than back away. Do this all the way around. You should be very close to the post before it will beep this way. Some times if you go across and past it, you will get a double beep when you are very close. People will lay their bags or what ever beside that post. So check them out slowly. That compadre is a whopper of a detector.
Let them big guys laugh at you. You laugh back , but don't tell them why... KEN

Ken , That should drive the nuts......

Anything i can do to avoid the wifi , park close to me is very noisey . Or is it something just to get used to?
