New detector

Sorry Justin,my last post was a response to daddyflea and was aimed at him,not you.It is quite easy to distinguish a coin from a pulltab even by observing the numbers on the vdi so your dad should'nt have a problem in trashy areas if he is just coinshooting, even if his hearing is'nt what it used to be.The m6 has a good 7tone feature which makes it quite easy to pick a coin from amongst pull tabs, even for those who have a slight loss of hearing.
The m6 is only a suggestion, but if he wants an easy to use machine that does everything really well there is'nt a machine out there that will better it by much......and it's fairly cheap. The best thing to do would be to go to a shop and see the difference in tones on a variety of targets......you will find that a coin has a totally different audio signal and vdi number than a pulltab.
Ps,thank your dad for the great work he did as a firefighter......one of lifes true heroes.
