New etrac

Just wanted to let you guys know that the new etrac arrived this evening, and I'm one happy old jarhead. I've been reading the instruction manual, and playing with the emulator for the last few days while waiting for it to get here. It's a lot different than my DFX, but I'm ready to get out there hunting, and if it wasn't 5 degrees outside, and 11:00pm, I would be digging right now. Wish me luck.

Mike

Congrats on the new Etrac Mike. You are going to have a blast with your new machine. Just dont let it get you frustrated but it will anyway. I love mine and would never part with it.

Welcome and Congrats on the new E-trac and best of luck when the weather warms where you are. Everybody is getting a little stir crazy after the cold settles in.

maddogusmc - Welcome aboard the E-Trac forum. You have purchased one of the most fun to use metal detector I've ever owned, and I've used a lot of them. Make sure you get Andy Sabisch's Explorer & E-trac hand book. Read it several times and don't be afraid to ask questions on this forum. There's some really informative E-trac users here who will be glad to help out. Rick "IL"

I little cold shouldnt keep a jarhead from hunting. Put on a little cold weather gear and give that ETrac a spin.....Happy Hunting from another jarhead..........

All those new tones will drive you nuts at first. Once you start to learn the language your on your way. Be patient, don't get frustrated, slow down, dig lots of targets, and above all just have fun :detecting:

Don't mind the cold Top, just wanted some daylight. I've been working overtime and it's already dark when I get off. I did get out for about 25 minutes last night to try out my new etrac. My first find was 1937 wheatie, and few clad coins, wasn't sure on the Fe-Co numbers, I'm used to the DFX. I'll be able to get out most of the day tomorrow, should have some good finds, hopefully some silver.

Mike

most important decision is do you want to dig high tones work in ferrous settings which will load itself if you put in the relic mode or if not go into conductive tones which is the way the coin mode works personally i cannot get on with conductive and find ferrous easy peezy as you can here the separation good luck anymore advice just ask as there is always someone that can help happy hunting

Mike - As many others will tell you - what ever you do ...
Be sure to get a copy of Andy Sabisch's - Minelab Explorer & E-Trac Book - it goes way beyond the factory manual - it's a must have book for any Explorer or E-Trac owner !

Good luck with your new machine ! --- Mark
