NEW F75LTD

Hope you guys can help on my new machine when it comes, used minelabe all the time. Is there any good tips on settings for deep old coins and trashy sites? What coils can i use ? Will have many more questions am sure. Thanks for any help

I would reccomend doing a search on the forum for some info. From what I gather, the only difference between the two is the 2 new process modes. Also get one of the small coils, either the 5"dd or the 3x6 concentric for your real trashy spots. I air tested my 3x6 on the LTD, sens 75, disc 6 in CL mode and got over 15" on a silver Quarter!!!!

Watch Bill Ladd's video up top and get ready to hear a lot of signals and some noise. If you try to make the F75 run quiet like a ML.. you may as well forget it, it will not perform as well as you want it to if you make it be quiet. The tones are more harsh and it takes a bit of getting used to. You just need to prepare yourself for it and not fret over it. You'll still hear good hits through the chatter.

I was reading Nasa Toms review where he went to an area that he had "sanitized" with an original F75 and I noticed that he didn't find a big difference and start making a LOT of finds in the area until he had the disc set to 0. With the disc set at 0 it is going to chatter some especially with the sens in the 90s. I used an original F75 as my main machine for over a year and I loved it and I found a LOT of good relics with it but I usually kept the disc on 6 or even higher sometime. I noticed that the JE mode would chatter as soon as I switched to it but I also learned that once I lowered the coil to the ground and began to swing that it would quieten down a lot. I am not sure how much the LTD will stabalize with high sens, BP, and 0 disc... but I am going to find out. I am picking mine up today!!!

Now if it will just stop raining for a bit...

I would start out for the first few weeks in DE mode and get use to the machine you won't miss much in that mode and as you get use to the machine and it is hard where there is trash or iron you will have a better feel for it. Then maybe in a month if you had hit a few areas that produced go back in and use the boost mode you may have to use the smaller coil to cut down some of the chatter. try a dics of six or seven to start out and just take your time.

stick with the stock DD coil for now. Usually that's all you need for pretty much everything.....Best coil I ever used, even iron loaded sites. Experiment with 2F tones in thick iron to pull small, masked targets out via the high pitched "chirps"....
As mentioned, to get super deep there's a trade off......lots of pops & clicks at low disc that really bother some people.
Do some testing with the new modes/ boost & experiment with sweep speeds to get the best ID's....
I'm sure there will be lots more info on getting the best out of the new modes here as more folks get them in their hands. I was so sick I was not able to complete the side by side tests I wanted to do, & want to get back to some "worked out" Colonial spots to see what happens. Now that I'm close to 100%, I'll be providing some detailed, fluff-free feedback (& hopefully some new finds) soon.....
HH,
Bill
