I just purchased a like new M6 with stock coil, but it hasn't arrived yet .I will be doing coin and jewelry hunting in parks and the usual places.I've been using a fisher 1270, tesoro conq umax and BH 3300. I think the M6 should outperform a couple of these and hopefully keep up with the 1270 in depth. Ive been using the 5" coil on the 1270 for trashy areas. I had an old {1988ish]eagleII last year for a couple of months then gave it to my brother. I didn't see an advantage in using it at the time. Now the question I came here to ask is ..If I would buy only one small coil for excellent depth what should it be? I was going to get a sov.GT ,then just made an impulse decision to get the M6. I've read some of the post here and it seems that the 5.3 eclipse is a prominent coil with the experienced users. Is that the one I need? Also I don't plan on doing much beach hunting so that shouldn't figure in the coil recommendation. I've been detecting for 6 1/2 years. My oldest coins are an 1875 and an 1876 seated dimes. These forums are great for gathering helpful info. Thanks to all and I'll be looking forward to some fantastic finds with the M6.
