New Nox 800

That’s all good info sube. Thank you. I didn’t know about the button issue. What I like about it from what I’ve read and seen online is that it’s deeper than most other pinpointers and how it only pinpoints out the tip rather than the whole thing, which most if not all others do. It’s a little pricier than the carrot and most of the others but it seems to be worth the extra money...at least until sunray makes an in-line probe for it like the x1 for the explorers.

Anybody here using the Whites Bullseye TRX Pinpointer? Reviews look as good if not better than the carrot. Any interference issues with the Nox? Does the TRX hold up well long term? Thanks again

I've carried the TRX for several years but in tandem with either the Garret Carrot or the Fisher F-Pulse. The two pointers get used in most all holes. You gain a knowledge for which pointer fits the particular segment of the dig, or pre-dig. Pre-dig is where the TRX works for me most, but the F-Pulse is king in a pile of dirt on the ground. Tip only detection has plus and minuses. If I could only carry one of. them, it'd not be the tip only detection.

I use the Pro-pointer 35 with ferrous, non-ferrous ability. I love that feature.
I also use a carbon fiber shaft & a must have control box cover to protect the face from damage.

5900 that is interesting. What is the negative side of tip only? The drawback I could see is if your target is off to the side of the hole you might not have enough room to angle the probe enough so that the top is pointed towards the target. Otherwise it seems like it would be the better design. Robert the ferrous tone feature of the Minelab seems like it would be useful as a lot of targets that are left these days are co-located with trash. The best would be a sunray style unit that uses the detectors discrimination. What kind of carbon fiber shaft do you use and what brand control box cover? Thanks again for all of the info.

I should say the Minelab Pro-find 35
I also have the Garrett Pro-pointer Carrot as back-up

That small flashlight tip only beam makes seeking a target tedious if it happens to be in a sidewall. You simply grab the basic location quicker with 360 degree detection. Once I get down, I want back up asap.

I love my TRX. Some say it's unstable and high gain units can be - just detune it you have to.

Thanks again. The Garrett carrot seems to be a no frills favorite of most. The Minelab has a nice feature of the ferrous indication sound and the XP rechargeable feature is very nice, but the price tag is high on that one.
Deus makes two versions one links with the machine MI-6 and the less expensive MI-4

What is the consensus on VLF probes versus PI probes? It seems the probes with PI technology go deeper and aren’t effected by ground mineralization but they do not seem to be as popular. What am I missing here? Why are the VLF probes so much more widely used? What are the drawbacks to the PI probes? Thanks again

I haven't had any problems with the button on mine. I turn it on and wait a few seconds then hit the button again. I think this detunes it...

Just make sure The TRX is on sensitive of 3 and not 4 as 4 will always overload

Sunray is out of business---that's old news (Ralph retired).
