seen used tracker IV on e-bay. discription says when in tone mode; tone only seems to change depending on how discrimination control is set.
is this how unit is supposed to work ? or does it need repairs ?
 
That doesn't sound right to me. You should get tone variation regardless of where you have notched discrimination to. I have two of them and have never noticed that.
