I did very little detecting last year and the warranty on my E600 expired in December. Per the specs on the V540, it seems that it does a lot of what the E600 can do, so I ordered the standard V540 (wired headphones, 12x9 coil) from Backwoods Detectors. I received it yesterday, tossed a few coins on the carpet and it worked with no problems. Weather permitting this weekend, I'll take to some local spot for its first actual run.
