New Year's Eve Gold

What a way to end 2014! A beautiful, intricate 14k white gold ring with what appears to be a fat sapphire. Was about to call it a day too and plan a trip for tomorrow to other beaches. There was nothing else good on the beach, just tons of iron. Found using TDI pro. Couldn't have asked for a better last ring. This has been my first year of metal detecting, found 63 rings, nine of them gold, lots of them silver, big and small, dug thousands of bottle caps to get them all. GL and HH in 2015:)

Now THATS a very nice ring! :clapping: Get it checked, it could also be a Lindy Star...Dont scrap that one dude...

There are a lot of independent jewelers in my area and I do plan on asking them about the stone. I don't scrap any of my rings, I work too hard and dig too much to scrap them. I consider each ring a trophy. Each ring has a neat little story behind it, for instance, this one was found on the very last day of my first year metal detecting, and found in almost the exact same spot as the other big one with diamonds. Plus, this one is a real looker, it'll serve some good time in my display case.

What coil are you using on the Pro?

I was using the stock dual field coil. I use full gain and lowest pulse delay. At those settings the pro will go very, very deep. It'll make a man out of you! Much deeper than the Surf PI.

Very nice ring! Congrats:thumbup:

Thanks Dancer, good luck to you with the Finny on those beaches...I have a feeling you're gonna get a nice piece of yellow!

Update: took it in, the stone is a sapphire, said they would have to send it to a lab to determine if synthetic or not. The jeweler told me it appeared to be a ring cast from another one. He said sometimes family members will do this to keep the ring style a tradition. For instance, granddaughter wants grandma's ring, but grandma's not about to give hers up, so they make a copy of it with the casting process. Real happy with this find, it's a great addition to my display case.

That's a fine way to end 2014...Beautiful!
