Hey guys, been off line for a bit. good to be back! that class ring i found from 1968, made the news. here is the link http://www.wsbtv.com/video/22071702/?taf=atl :clapping: its a good story, bad pictures of me,it was really windy outside when we took them. lol.

Wow, what an amazing story. Good work getting that ring back, the woman looked genuinely touched.

Great vid!

I have to ask and if you don't want to answer I understand. Did you take any reward? Dinner? Free dental work? Being on the news is a nice reward in itself.

I have a ring I've been trying to return for over a year and I got no cooperation from the school. It was a 2009 ring so it should have been easy. Maybe the girl who lost it was afraid to tell her parents. The one ring I did manage to return was not a positive experience for me like yours was for you. I mailed it back and asked for a call when she got the ring. I was out of pocket around 20 bucks in long distance and postage with insurance. If somebody returned a gold ring of mine, I would send the finder 50 or 100 for a nice lunch or dinner on me. I got no thank you note, no phone call. Nuthin.

In the future I'll think of your great story instead of my own.

Incredible!:clapping:You are my hero!:super:Fabulous job of representing the hobby of metal detecting in a positive light!:garrett::detecting:I'm sure that you returning that ring to that lady meant more to her than words can describe.:angel:Happy Hunting!:)

Great story and great publicity for metal detecting hobby. some people are grateful for what you do and as cwilk mentioned, some are not! Virtue is it's own
reward!

No i didn't . she offered but the felling of getting it back to her was good for me. she came to Virginia and picked it up. she had a meeting to go to. perfect timing for me to give it back to her.
