NICE old RR Lock, button, wheats

went to an old school today and dug everything that was 4" deep or more did not care what the signal was, dug a bunch of nickels, few pulltabs, can slaw, etc.......

got a nice screaming 01-44 signal and I NEVER expected to find what I dug up....a nice old railroad Lock. I think it is possibly Canadian National Railroad, anyone?

Found a couple 1940's wheats, a junk locket, and lastly a old looking button. Back is rusted away.

Those are some cool finds. I have no idea of the locks origin but I can definitely see the word "Chicago" at the bottom.

Nice Southwind found A lock like that I think it was last year thear both in great shape 4 there age and where u both found them in the ground 2 bad the keys wernt with them Congrats HH

As a avid collector of RR locks and keys I love win you guys find them The A&W on the key cover stands for the Adams and Westlake co Chicago. They made some of the best brass locks in the 1850's through1950's or 60's so that's a great find.

Hey Terry - Nice finds !

Here's a few photo's of a Padlock I found last Spring that's similar in looks and size to yours.
There's some great web sites that the antique Padlock collectors have created - Google them - one of these collectors told me my lock was mfg. around 1915.
