Nice start to Feb

Had about an hour to hunt before dinner. Hit a neighbor's house where I have found a 03 Barber Dime and a Merc and Silver Nickel. I got a bouncy signal that was deep. Rang up mostly in the 33 range with a little chirp up to 37. I was thinking penny. Boy was I surprised when I saw the Merc in the dirt. (a good 9 inches) It is REALLY rough but I'll take it. Can't read a mint mark. Also found a 46 D penny in the yard next to this one while I was heading over. Found about 4 other clad coins to boot and very little trash. Lots of iron in the yard as well which really makes me work the coil.
Thanks for looking,
Bunker

bunker,

Nice finds and I am getting really jealous. I'm starting to consider taking a big hair dryer and a bunch of extension cords out to see if I can soften up a place to dig!

I read everyone's posts about finds in people's yards. So like Bunker I had an hour to kill before dinner and decided what the heck I'm not going to find anything but I get to have a bit of fun. I have a pool in back (no lawn) and the front yard is pretty small. But I was able to pull out a few coins. Two really exciting ones were both wheat pennies from 1945. WOW, Check those yards folks.
