Nickel park gives up two more.........

I have this little 1 acre park about 1 mile from work and I go there when I am short on time. I really hate parks, but will only hunt them when I don't have time to door knock. Anyhow this places has given up so MANY buffalo and war nickels, I named it "Nickel Park" It has been pounded pretty hard because you really have to dig iffy, IFFY stuff to get the goods. But old nickels are all over the place. Goes to show a lot of lazy hunters have been there. Fine with me!

The buffalo was 07-14, and the war nickel was 17-19, real close to where they always come in for me. Got a small button a wheat, and a RR smashed penny, it is pretty green, maybe it was an indian??

Look at the bright side it could be called penny park. lol Great finds G4E gotta love those hunters that have no curiosity.

Nice finds Goes.....I'm totally new to this machine, but I thought nickels were supposed to come in the 12-13/14 range?.....I haven't dug many of the 17-19 because they were pulltabs. Anything in particular I should be listening for? Just got a new pair of Gold Pro's for the new E-trac....i got a whole lot of new going on...lol.

Great finds Terry! I love "pounded out" parks...especially when I am using the etrac and others have whatever they have.

The thing to remember is that those "normal" ranges are just that...the norm. As with Terry I have dug nickels at those odd ball signals. I have also dug old teens and 20s mercs at 12-39 to 12-41. Once a coin has been in the ground for ages it sometimes doesn't give those perfect signal. Look for repeatability of the signal, sharp and crispness of the tone, depth, etc. If you have a nice repeatable 17-19 at 8 or so inches with a nice tone, I would dig it without hesitation.
