Nickel Sniffin

Went to a site in which I could never find any older coins.
The area has had activity since the middle 40's, but apparently has been so hard hit I have only found one wheat cent
in the past.
Sooo, I started digging nickles.
Got to say this is a GREAT nickel machine.
I thought my CZ was hot on nickels, and now I can say so is the Etrac.
I wasn't there too long, as I had an hour and a half after work.
Detected until the sun set.
Scored a war nickel. :geek:

Congrats on the finds! I find more nickels than I ever have since I bought the e-trac.

I haven't had the same results on nickels with my E-trac but I think that it's because the nickel tone mixes in with the trash signals and I just don't have enough experience to pick it out yet. I have dug alot of 12-12, 12-13, 12-14 targets but they are almost always pull tabs or aluminum trash. I did dig a nickel as my first target the other day with my new to me Sun Ray X-5 at my local park. I love the E-trac but I haven't found it to be the best nickel machine I have had.

I think the Etrac is right up there with the CZ detectors on nickels. I once dug 33 targets. 29 of the 33 were nickels.........;o)
