No area is ever hunted out......

Especially if you are using an E-Trac. Went to an old military school today and found a bunch of clad. A shield nickel (I think), a buffalo nickel, a silver ring, and this badge. Also found 5 wheats. Only got to detect for a couple hours because of the rain but we needed it. The funny thing about this site was some of the clad was 7 inches deep or so but the two nickels were only around 3 inches deep.

I'm guessing that would be the Milwaukee Braves !!!

Very nice, I bet that ring was a nice surprise!

Really great couple of hours! :detecting:

Great finds, especially that ring!

There could have been some dirt work done at some time, or that area of deep clad could have just experienced a lot of heaving. Natures is a strange beast!

Congratulations on the finds. I think your nickel is a shield and it looks to me like it has the rays between stars, which would put it 1866 or 1867! Ring looks nice too! Thanks for sharing the spoils of your hunt with us!

Thanks for the comments. The ring was probably the deepest (good) target today. I did dig up an old pocket watch at probably 10 inches or so also but it was trashed. I am going to hit it again tomorrow if the rain stops.......;o) I know their is some silver to be had from this site.
