At least gold plated that is. Went back to my recent site and detected a small island where I had found a Merc last weekend and the very nice fob. Figured there would be more silver there and so gridded off the small piece of land. Funny how you can sometimes walk onto a piece of land and find the only silver coin there - which I apparently did last weekend.
I did how ever get a couple of interesting broaches or whatever you'd call them.
The first one I found was right next to the curb and only about 2-3" down - I thought it was going to be a Memorial cent. I've yet to put it in a peroxide bath, but it appears to be gold plated zinc or something. Notice the bullseye pattern on the back. The front main field, thought the scan doesn't show it well, is essentially reflective gold plate.
A few minuted later I unearthed a second beautiful broach that came out of the ground basically the way you see it here - very shiney and ornate. The back also has the same bullseye-type pattern on it and you can clearly see where a pin was attached. I believe it is also gold plated metal of some sort though it has some heft to it.
The third item is some sort of broach/pin that I originally thought was a dog - a retriever. After cleaning it with soap and water I have no idea what it is and it appears to have been painted in a variety of colors. Any ideas on this one?
I also found about a half-dozen wheats, but no more silver. I did find a couple other interesting items that I may post later when I have a chance.
Thanks for looking!
