Noise constant hum using E-trac

jetman

New member
I have just bought an E-trac and find there is a constant hum which only stops if I get a signal. This can be quite annoying is this typicalo of E-trac or can I get rid of it

the hum is your threshold...in both the e-trac book and the andy s. book...read, read, read! and yes you can turn it down to barely hear it...but the threshold hum is your friend

That sounds like the threshold. It can be adjusted up or down. It is a good thing to have because it gives you an idea of what is in the ground that is being discriminated out.
If you don't want to hear it just turn it down until you can't hear it.

Same as above posts, just set it barely audible, nothing wrong with the detector. Good luck with your new e-trac

Turn the threshold all the way down. If it is still there possibly a short in headphone wiring or in the detector. Hope you find a solution!

That was my question as well. I need to read more before playing with it fresh out of the box! Just got it yesterday and am eager to test it out! Transitioning from an AT-PRO and have to learn a new language now. My last find with the AT was a 1881 Indian head at 7". It was 60 degrees here in Michigan on Sat. the 12th and we hit an old downtown park. Looking forward to hunting it again with the E-Trac!
