I was able to update to V1.02 software on February 6, 2026. That public version software really changed how Legend 2 performed in the high magnetite mineralization conditions where I often detect. All target IDs especially low and mid conductors, became much more stable and there was no more low and mid conductor high tone falsing. V1.02 also stabilized ground balancing and even improved EMI handling.
So, since February 6, 2026 I have hunted exclusively with the Legend 2 and 11" round coil. My Manticore and Deus 2 have received a well earned rest for the last 3 weeks. I missed one week of hunting also during that time due to weather and traveling.
My basic settings for Legend 2 have been Park M1, A disc pattern, sensitivity 23 to 25, recovery speed 4 or 5, bottle cap reject 0, iron filter 1, audio gain 1, ground suppression 0, deep target 1 or 2, iron volume level 2, 6 tones setup so that iron, small foil, US nickels, US zinc penny, US clad dime/copper penny and US quarter each get a tone bin.
Legend 2 has done very well in my opinion.
Many of the silver targets were 8" or more deep. The large gold ring was 5" deep.
These were all found in public parks where very careful selective digging with no shovels allowed is a requirement.
Melt value by weight and purity as of 2/28/2026 for the gold and silver items is $853 US.
Oldest coin is an 1889 USA Liberty Head nickel. That is fairly old for the Denver Colorado area since Colorado became a US state in 1876.
During these hunts I also recovered over $50 in USA modern clad coins.
Yes, I happily dig modern clad coins. Money is money and I will take it anyway that I can get it, even zinc pennies.
