Blank Planet said:only real reason i want a FBS machine is there is far more coil options for trash hunting and the dry wet sand transition is not a problem on salt beaches. So for those 2 reasons is the safari a valid option?

I guess the most interesting find and I suppose you could call it jewelry, it was a silver double toe ring laced with sparkling diamonds (I'm sure the diamonds were only glass). This past October we went to Myrtle for a week, I used the Safari and found lots of clad, no jewelry but the quarters were popping like crazy. It was as if a barrel of them had burst open just off shore and washing up on the beach. The Safari is a killer detector on the beach, wet, damp, or dry sand, it works very well. In July we stayed at Paradise Inn on south Myrtle but in October we camped at Ocean Lakes.
