Notch is a little Fuzzy..........

Can someone explain how to notch out different areas on the F-75??? I understand notch, but how do you pick the ares to notch and select. Do you have to do one area at a time or can you notch more than one range at a time??? When I scroll to notch it is on 1. Is it off or on and how do you change it?? Is there a 0 notch?? The owner's manual is a little fuzzy on this. Help me out.

I thought someone would have answered by now.

This is how I use it and understand it. Notch is at 1 when you first go to notch, but nothing is notched out. If you are notching out something higher than what your disc is set at you hit the button until notch is selected and turn the knob until the cursor moves to the area you want to notch out and hit the button and it will notch that item out. There is the high end and the low end of a item like a pull tab so you will then have to turn the knob until you see the cursor move to the higher end and hit notch again. Now let say you run the disc high to get rid of the lower end items like alum foil and pull tabs you have also disc out the nickles which you want. Now being the nickles is disc out you want to notch it in so you go to notch again and watch the cursor again and when on the low end of nickle you hit the notch, the turn the knob again until it moves to the second half of the nickle and hit the button again and you will have notched in the upper end of the nickle. You can notch out anything higher than disc, or notch in anything that has been disc out. I hope this is what you wanted to know and I was able to explain it right.

You said exactly what i think I had figured out just by sitting down with it and trying different things. I understand how it works now and appreciate your explanation. Thanks.

Go to the notch function, turn the knob until the slash appears over the section you want to notch in or out and press the knob. Then turn it to the next section you want to notch and do the same, then press the button. You have to notch each section in or out individually. When you are through setting the notchs where you want them go back to the disc and turn it down to 0 and the slash marks should be over the sections you notched out, or if it is on 65 then slash marks will be over sections you notched in. To check notch, turn your disc to 0 and there should be no slash marks visible. If you set your disc on 6 there should be one slash, the lowest one.

When you get through and want to go back to no notch, the easiest way is to power of and reset the machine.
