I sent the following note to Minelab Americas as I'd really like to see a policy statement put forth by Minelab formally regarding
the use of updates beyond mandatory 'issue' based updates:
CTX owner here in Canada. I've got a very general question here regarding CTX SW/FW updates.
Does Minelab plan to provide SW updates for enhancements/improvements? Will there be a timeline for updates?
For example CTX owners have made suggestions on the Finds Forum for improvements that I'm
sure Minelab is aware of. Personally I'd really like to see the update ability used for more than what are
effectively "emergency" updates like the battery causing a shutdown.
Can Minelab make a statement about the intended use of the update mechanism? I'd really like to see this "feature" clarified.
This is an important issue to me and was a big part of the justification for my purchase of the CTX.
