Nox 800 in a Pennsylvania Farm Field

I am lucky to have exclusive access to a farm rather local to me. I go out there when I can. I have included a picture of a tray of the items I've dug on the site so far. I've also included a picture of an early 1700's Spanish silver I dug on the property. It was random, not located near most of the other items, rather along a fence row toward the rear of the property.

Most of the copper coins are worn, but there's a few that have dates from the 1700's. Good old King George's.

The other picture is of a couple items I've dug out there in the past two days. Not sure what that shield is. It was a lapel pin of some kind.

I really like the Equinox. I just fired up the WM 08 with earbuds, it's real comfy :)

Wow that place had been very good to you. That’s a lot of great finds. And you know there is more.

been a while since I’ve hit a virgin field that old... sweet finds..I see a capped bust large cent, I think I see KG I there too..the shield thing is most likely a bridal rosette should have 2 prongs on the back where it was mounted into leather..some of those coppers look pretty good all things considered... I hunt a few places like that that still give up a good coin or 2 every year...congrats on some awesome finds...

Funny thing about farms. I've been on some where there's little to be found. Others, like this one, always yield up something when I go over there. I'm not sure what they were doing back in the day, but a good many of those coins, and buttons, were found in an area the size of a football field or so. I've given all the finds to the property owner except a few choice items. I've dug all sorts of stuff over the past several years, running out of room to store it :)

I’ve found two sites that everything dated 1830 or prior...I have another that was occupied mid 1700s till the1970s...much like you said it’s either feast or famine... I believe the productive areas I hunt had business operation at the farm in addition to being gathering places for church groups, spring fed watering hole and buggy parking for the colonial era tavern..another productive site was a large iron ore mine that I assume I found the miners camp site which gives up flat buttons and Connecticut coppers but never dug a King George at that site which is kind of odd... I wish I had kept site specific finds together like you did as it does tell the story better in hind site...some old places though just don’t give up anything like no one was home for the first 50 years lol..

With that volume of finds... There must have been a small community there many years ago. Great variety of find's.!!
