nox coil question

i took of my coil cover to clean nox and was surprised there was no plastic protecting the coil saw just epoxy. is this normal for mind lab all my other detectors the coil was enclosed.

I clean mine out after each day hunting, never know what sneeked in there to mess with readings...magnetic sand and such

Standard way of assembly. Usually the entire void on the bottom is epoxied in but not on the Nox. I think there is a weight savings by not filling in the support arms with epoxy.

Tin....... i dont know why.... but i do know with the Xcals they did that and as the bolts got loose and tighted the bottoms separated. Next batch ...... they were fully epoxyed. Should have learned something there.
