Ocean beach hunters which do you find best for hunting dry and wet sand, Explorer or Sov. GT.

because I can cover more territory ... walk at a faster pace and it hits deeeeeeep too.
I hunted the beach for many years when I lived in Pensacola and just prefered the Sov GT for it's ease of use when hip mounted with a large coil on the straight shaft.
Night time hunting, when the crowds disappear, then the Explorer with it's back light comes in handy for those that depend on the screen ID instead of sound.
Some folks say the Explorer is deeper on the beach but they'd sure have to prove it to me :)
I dig just about everything that beeps in the sand anyway ... just as I do relic hunting.

The adjustable iron mask and noise cancel really helps me on the beach, great features. Like MIke says the backlight really is a great feature at night as well.

Either works well and Id say are the two best vlfs for wet sand hunting.
