All I can say is wow!!

My first gold coin in 40 years of hunting, and in the middle of a plowed field!
Searching a farm field near my house here in Munich, Germany where I found the 1875 silver mark last week.
I was not excited when I first saw the glint of gold because I thought it was Euro 10 cent or a late 1920's 10 pfennig, but that changed fast when I wiped off the first layer of dirt. After I calmed down, I pulled out my Phone to document the coin.

The coin was not where I centered it at because there were two owl square nails in the hole which my White's pinpointer went to first. Sure glad I did not drive my shovel through it!

Minelab 800 on Field 1 with FE1 at -7, and recovery speed of 6 due to all the iron in the field.

Guess I'll search the whole field now!!!!

Awesome find congrats they are few and far between a gold coin is on the top of most people’s bucket list!

Terrific find. Tough find to add to ones find list. I know! Am now 48 years with the hobby and still digging for my 1st one. Good job. HH jim tn

How much is that gold coin worth ( face value) & how much is it worth now?
It is 10 marks, which was about a week's wages when lost. Value is about $400 because it is in such great condition. Amazing when you think it was in a field that has been plowed for years, but I think it was below the plow level

Very cool find, congratulations!
What do you mean FE1 -7?
Tony

Congrats on your first! Yes search the whole field, there should be hammered coins there as well with much lower TID numbers than the gold you dug.

FE1 is an iron bias (1 or 2) setting on the Equinox, and -7 is one of the levels
