Odd pocket spill nets me my 1st ever Seated coin!

Went out to the woods for a few hours the last 2 days and found a bunch of relics and old coins. I started off finding my 1st multi IH spill (2 in 1 hole), then a V and so on. Well eventually I got a bouncy signal that went from coin to iron and back to coin. I get tons of these signals and I always dig them. Well at about 4-5" I dug a cool stack of coins. I could tell that the biggest coin was a Barber quarter and it had a nickle in the middle and a dime on the top. Well It turned out to be a 1898 q - 1899 V - 1885 seated dime all in an old coin stack!!! Finally after 3 years of hunting I finally got my seated coin!!!! I also found 2 pins in the same area, 1 is an eagle and the other is of Uncle Sam, enjoy. I'm still pumped about gettin that monkey off my back!!!

In the video I make a fool outta myself when I realize its my very 1st seated, be sure to watch! :wiggle:

Congrats on your first seated !!!

Thats one great looking Barber. That had to have been a drop when it was almost new. Those are the ones to find. Those areas are really paying off.

Congratulations on your Seated dime! Great find. The Barber quarter is a beauty too. You may want to take them to a coin dealer to see what they suggest to get the green stuff off. I would do MINIMAL cleaning - just something that could take the green off and not the toning. I don't clean my silver coins (only mild soap and water to get the dirt off). I know dealers use acetone to clean off the greenish gunk that are on coins that are in the soft plastic holders for a long time but you may want to check with a coin dealer or someone experienced in this sort of thing before trying it. I like those two pins too - they are really neat. Way to go and thanks for the fun video. HH

Great finds and congrats on joining the seated club!!

Did you say that was your very fist seated dime? I didn't quite catch what you said. I know the feeling :beers: Congrats.

Watched the vid on youtube early this morning. I`m proud for you and also deeply jealous! LOL HH

Thanks guys, I wasn't expecting to find a seated dime, I figured it would be a barber or a merc. I gotta say thats what I love best about our hobby the most, you never know what your gonna find next!!!
