was detecting right before it snows tonight in a yard I done 3-4 times before I,ve cherry picked all the silver so I thought but the signal came in at 1218 at 5 inches but when I put my sunray in the hole it was silver they were 1911-1915s barber dimes stuck together great finds but why the odd signal

Congratulations! Nice Finds!

Almost sounds like there might still be something there. Nickel, iron, pull tab ???? If you checked it and it was clean then that sure was odd.

Pinpoint without any discrimination - quickmask with blank screen. There will be something else in there.

Many use the X-1 in their regular discriminate mode when pin pointing, which is nice for finding that nice high silver sound, but it still nulls over anything discriminated like your regular coil does. If you use the X-1 with quick mask and a blank screen, you will hear the iron and any other discriminated targets that are in the hole along with your Barber Dimes. You will be surprised at all the nails and other discriminated crap that's all in the same hole.

DANG!...I'm hoping to find at least 1 Barber dime this year.
Congrats!:clapping:

Curious how they scan out of the hole & were they on edge in the ground?
MOST would not have dug that signal... congrats 2 for 1 !!

You'll need to go and click on Upload File - up above with the little paperclip by it. I click on Browse and go to where your picture is stored. Click on your picture and then upload. The image will have to be under 420 kb - I think for this forum to accept it.

I've had that happen to me twice in 11 years. Could not believe my eyes the first time when I saw a Barber dime, although it was worn very thin. I re-excavated and rescanned everything with the machine and my probe - nothing else in the hole.

The second time, I actually saw the coin edge while scraping the soil with my probe end. Stood up and re-scanned - now it nulled out completely from the same angle. Turned to one side and started to get a slight broken higher-pitched ping. Tilted the coil and then it started to sing like normal.
