It's always a fun detecting road trip. Wish us luck in that nasty, mineralized red clay soil. I'll be bringing many shovels, coils, & 3 different detectors with me. I'd love to share everything, but since some are of the belief that posting pictures of finds constitutes "showboating", perhaps I'll concentrate on my landscapes  But, a few buttons & bullets will be fine....(especially for a Yankee who has no Civil War sites to hunt).
Before I hit the highway, I'm thinking of starting a pool......what's going to be the over/ under on "dirty looks" Will I get more bullets or more dirty looks at this one? ;)
HH,
Bill

But I do expect to see some awsome posts of your finds......or a video.

Bill, personally I really enjoy your videos and your posts.

I'd never discourage people from posting pics, I always enjoy seeing the good stuff. That's one of the things the forum is for. And if someone just wants to post a load of clad, bottlecaps and pulltabs, what the heck.

That post about not posting pictures because it gives the anti-detecting crowd ammo and saying that every time a really good old find is dug up it's one less great old find under the ground and giving that person a not so good feeling, that seemed more than a little shallow and like just downright twisted logic to me. Anyone who feels that way should save themself a lot of frustration and avoid the forums.

If what you're doing is showboating then keep it up, a lot of us enjoy it!

Don't you be talkin trash about Yankee stuff! :poke:

Man I wish I was goin!

I'll be curious to find out how the LTD does in you dirt down there. Should be just the ticket I'm thinking.

Got out today for my first hunt with the Tek Omega. Sweet little machine for sure. Seems to handle iron real well in the multi tone modes. I have pretty much always been a single tone guy except for the earlier digi-Fishers. Now I'm thinking I'd rather hunt iron with the Omega in multi tone the than T2 in single tone. That's a big switch for me!

Before i die i want to go on a DIV hunt. Good luck Bill..Hope you find some real oldies.

Hey Bill, B-E-S-T of L-U-C-K for ya!! I hope you HIT THE MOTHER LODE!! Find a CS Belt Plate! HH, Les Robinson

Bill, post and video and by the way if its not dug and shown .who would ever see it anyway....good luck hunting......Dan

I didn't see any dirty looks this time......
Everyone I met was very friendly, & lots of people I didn't know said they enjoyed my videos, etc......
so that was nice & is encouragement to do more. A couple people turned away from me when they saw me coming, but they are just the jealous, "he's full of himself" types......
Lots of folks were upset the farmer took the $$ & didn't bother to cut or plow the dang fields! But, we still worked with what we had & I saw alot of sweet relics come out of the ground. I got a few things & I'll try to get some pics up soon......I still need to unpack, etc.
HH,
Bill

I went to high school in Northern Virginia (Manasas/Chantilly area).

I wish I'd been into detecting back then.

Now I'm in the Seattle area an it hard to break through the 1900's it seems.
