Usually things go okay in surgery, Woodchip, but mistakes can happen. So just to be on the safe side, right before they hit you with the anaesthetic remember to hand the surgeon a checklist of stuff he ain't allowed to cut off.

Decline the anesthetic, and you could save enough money to buy another rig or a few more coils!
