OK guys, what's your theory on the strange event

5000 Blackbirds fall at random from the sky in Arkansas at night. So far, tests show not from a toxin but from trauma. "Experts" say fireworks caused them to become startled and fly into buildings etc. Problem is they were not found at the bases of buildings, they were everywhere. Some said a hailstorm could have caused it, problem is no storm activity or lightning in the area. Something strange for sure.

methane Gas (Swamp Gas)

Those black birds are Red Winged Black birds and they live in swampy areas, at least any I have seen. They nest in swamps in the cat tails. A big bubble of Methane would spook them and send them into a panic and many would die from the gas and probably be in pretty rough shape form the panic. There were also a lot of dead fish in the area and that same gas would easily smother fish.

Just my un-educated opinion of course. It is a better guess than some I have seen reported

Royal, you cant say "spo-ok" on this site, political correctness you know...
Its getting weirder and weirder every minute, new reports from LA, KY MD and Manitoba..there usually are winter associated dieoffs that never made the news before, so it could be just one of those naturally occuring things that now get air, because of this instant communication medium we now have...
I expected to hear of massive dieoffs in FL due to the cold, but nothing yet...If it is a bird flu, then we should know pretty dang quick, if its listeria in the fish, we should know that also...but so far there is no data that is believable one way or the other. Bird flu would kill more than just blackbirds, and listeria would kill more than just the drum. google up Geoengineeringwatch if you want to read about weather manipulating devices. Interesting days to be alive on this Planet for sure.

and it would have to take some kind of element for them to start flying around in the dark. Maybe a chemical or gas release into the air where they were roosting that made them fly off. Birds can die from the simplest things, if you have tweetie bird in a cage in the house and you burn a Teflon coated pan, the bird will drop dead.
