Somebody wanted to preserve that Lincoln cent. Perhaps the owner's (a child?) "birth year"??

never saw anything like it....thought at first it was a mint error....looks like it was pressed into an outer copper ring....but has no scratches or marks on it ...weird
 
Yeah now I realize the size...an outer ring is involved certainly...someone’s attempt at artwork or jewelry...and the most bizarre wheat penny find I’ve seen yet!
 
It's a keeper for sure ! Nice show off piece in great shape after cleaning up. I don't think that it is the 1936 double struck coin but still amazing.
 
That is really an amazing find.............A new possibility added to my bucket list.
