Old house site today...

New member
Hunted the yard of an old 90 year old house site today. Very trashy yard with a lot of iron. Pulled a few wheaties, an old state tax token, old jack, piece of jewelry(not silver) and some old shot gun brass. Also found an old ceramic Ball mason jar lid. The zinc part crumbled trying to recover it. Fun morning......
 
Love hunting thos old homesites.!!!! Can't never tell what one may find!!! I like finding those old cast iron "irons" of ironing clothes!!!! When ya run your coil across one of those.....you'll know it!!!! lol Congrats on your great finds!!!
 
I have found a bunch of those Mason Jar lids, but, they have all had broken glass inside. I'm still looking for one with the glass intact. I have some zinc lids in pretty good shape, but, no glass.
 
Would have been nice to have found a jar full of coins under that lid:surprised:
