Old Minelab coil...

SovElite

New member
Hello there! Question for u all. i Just got a old Minelab coil without a connector. Got me the right connectors. A 6 pin connector for a Sovereign Elite I have. Its a Seasearch coilI have without connector. It looks like a seashell lying flat and heavy! What i need is the color connection a drawing to place where the color goes in what number for a 6 pin connector. Dont really want to take my Elite apart to see what color it goes into !! Thanks again Have a great weekend then! Brian

I haven't practiced drawing on the puter for this.

I hope you can see the pin numbers on the connector. Also, wire colors may be different, depending on the make of the coil. We can get this squared away.

Coinsearch coil
1)-RED
2)-BLK
3)-GRN
4)-ORG
5)-not used
6)-BLU

stock Tornado 10"
1)-RED
2)-BLK
3)-WHT
4)-YEL
5)-not used
6)-not used

Hope this helps. I have other coils mapped out, like the SunRay S-12 and a 5 inch excelerator. I wish I had all these coils.

Hello there ejudasf! Thanks for ur response! Looking at what u wrote. Found my coil. Has the light gray covering on it wire cover not the black one. Has 5 wires Red, Orange, Blue, Green, and Black the Black and Red wires are thick wire, the green, blue, and green are thin wires like gauges wires ya know . Red and black thicker than the othe 3 colors. Looks like ground and battery wire and then other 3 are for contols. Checking and notice is the same as coinsearch coil. Have that one too. so looks like ill try wiring it to the number u listed for colors and numbers and go from there on coinsearch to my connector. yeah tell me about 4 wires 5 wire 6 and 8 ! too confusing! Should do it the same way Whites detector did to their coils 5 wire plug on all of them! Ha! Oh well!

On the Sovereign coil that fit all the Sovereigns mine all have only 5 wire plug connectors and there is only 4 wires connected I believe number 5 is the one that has no wire connected to it. I never seen a horseshoe coil as they were on the Excalibur and were waterproof Minelab used on the early Excalibur that were hard wired and didn't have connectors . It is a weighted coil to hold the coil down so it is bit heavy for the Sovereigns. This is why the Seasearch coil don't have connector on it, but can be put on to use on the Sovereigns just have to know which wire to connect to which connector pin., the connector have the pin number on them.
