Old People

61 soon. Been doing it often for 20 years in spring, summer fall and winter. It will add years of life to this body. This year, I started jogging for about 30 minutes after a hunt, just to stay in shape.

73 here have been detecting since about 1969 and still love doing it.

From what I am reading..This detecting hobby sounds like a Baby Boomer fad !!!

Been swinging a detector since 1973 and I am one of the old People at 68, but feel like I am over 100 with my health. worked in a tire shop for over 14 years on cement floors where I was kneeling and standing, so my knees, legs and back is very bad plus am total deaf in many sounds. Had 2 heart attacks around 4 years ago plus a triple bypass so I don't get out like I used to as I own and operate a small time bar and cafe, but when I do I have fun and forgets my aches and pain while detecting for a while as it is a very relaxing hobby.

Young punk here at 53... sometimes wish i was 63 so i could retire... cant complain though as i get a decent amount of vacation days... like george says ,i feel like a happy 7 year old when im detecting. ... so true...

There is one disadvantage to being retired. You Never Get A Day Off. But having six Saturdays every week is Nice.

still feel pretty good, mainly a water hunter.....Good luck "Old" people....lol

As long as you don't have vicious surf waves pounding you maybe water hunting could be the long sought-after "Fountain of Youth" Ha!

Just turned 58 this year. Still feel young. Went back hunting for the 1st time this weekend after years of not detecting. This morning I felt a lot older than I thought I did. Not used to bending down & getting back up. Got to get back in shape...

Well I am 66 and still getting out there. Happy you have this hobby been lot's of fun. Jim

Yep, I hope I can still enjoy detecting, when I'm 83. Hang in there.........:clapping:

I hope to discover some of you close enough to my location to share some very promising places to search for coins,silver&gold/relics&treasure,jewelry+lots of history!!! My home is in south central missouri 30min. east of West Plains MO.

Well, just a few days short of my 69th bday, I hunted 4 hrs straight with my MX5- about $5-6 in change + a silver cross medallion! Picked up my Compadre and started to swing it and my arm almost flew off!!:pinnochio:pinnochio:lmfao:

Sixty years young and retired. Having lots of fun digging in the dirt and finding some coins. The excitement when another quarter signal ding in my head phones makes my day better.
Detecting for fun, not profit. Always fun to walk across a green thinking what may be in the ground in front of me.

turned 60 last july been hunting sense oct 2010. just love the hobby.

Jack, thanks for sharing all of your experience, still going strong at 73 and looking forward to many more productive years.
