Old Pitcher.............

I love these old Minolta Lenses!

Picture was taken with a Sony NEX-6 camera using a (1978-79) Minolta MD Macro 35-70mm F3.5-5.6 lens. Settings were F8, 1/250, ISO 800, "Daylight" White Balance, Manual focus using the "Peak Focusing" Mode, Manual Mode, good lighting. Kelley (Texas) :)

Why such a High ISO in controlled light? Or are you looking for a more "dirty" look.

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased a Sony NEX-6 camera. The picture posted was one of the test pictures taken a few days ago using one of my vintage Minolta lenses. That picture was just randomly chosen to be posted on this forum. I had been testing a Minolta lens under different conditions on and off most of the day. This picture was taken at ISO 800 so that I could see what effect it would have in regards to noticeable noise. As you can see, there is very little noise. I am quite satisfied with the results produced by this camera and lens.

You asked "Why such a High ISO in controlled light? Or are you looking for a more "dirty" look." Answer: The picture was taken in available light, not a controlled light condition, no flash or other lighting was used to take this picture. Also, the high ISO setting was not used to "dirty" the picture...not the intent.

I just enjoy taking photography using old, vintage gear. Kelley (Texas) :)

I think it is a fantastic photo, was just curious of the higher ISO, which now makes a bit clearer why you did it. My grandfather uses his old Minolta still (he just bought a cheaper sony, not sure the model) while I shoot with my D80. I take advantage of my Photoshop education however to clear up some faults in the picture.

And by controlled light, I wasn't meaning flashes, I was saying you were able to take the picture in a controlled area where the light was accessable to your liking instead of a shot in the wild when you are looking to get an awesome unexpected shot.

Kelley,
You picture provides phenomenal detail! I love it! That camera of yours makes beautiful pictures.

We always enjoy seeing pictures posted by others. You are always most welcome here! Kelley (Texas) :)

Hey Kelley, I posted a few shots in the bug thread and my own little thread that I didn't exactly take. Not sure if my photography suits this site as far as a "treasure" site. But I can throw some on here when the time comes from home. I love sharing.

Haha, thanks Kelley, I will put some up of my shots sometime soon. Been super busy, I feel I can not even sit down for a few minutes anymore.
